John Duffy
John Duffy grew up in a town with no village idiot, for they all seemed pretty smart to him. The youngest in a large family of hard-workers, the young Duffy often found there was not much for him to do, as most everything had already been taken care of. And he was okay with that. He credits his family for instilling in him a firm appreciation of this hard-work mentality and credits his unwavering willpower for not falling into that trap.
From an early age, he took an interest in anything where he even remotely excelled. Unfortunately, this limited him greatly and as a result, he spent far too much time making faces at himself in the mirror. In school, he often impressed classmates and teachers alike with his innate ability to imitate flatulence through clasped hands.
The pinnacle of his pubescence was when he spent a summer atop a mountain in distant lands in order to better understand everything, including his own brilliance. In later years, Duffy recalled this period of his life in a rare moment of prideful honesty, “I always knew I had a brilliant smile, but, wow! … I had no idea about the rest of me.”
This adventure also ignited a strong sense of wanderlust in the teenager and soon after completing his high school studies, Duffy set out to change the world. His adventures led him up the east coast to a brief stop in Virginia . It was here that he acknowledged that, in fact, he could do little to change the world until the world wanted to change. It is in Virginia where he remains today, awaiting a world that is ready to change.
Duffy currently lives with his vivacious wife Tiffany, whose beauty is matched only by her charm, but who’s feisty as all get-out. They care for two cats, who don’t care too much for each other.
With one of his brilliant-er ideas, John Duffybegan The Muted Guerrilla in the Spring of 2005 to much fanfare, primarily as a way to reach out to the people. The people have been slow to respond in kind. This is his first blog.
